My friends invited me to their wedding in Denia, Spain this summer. This day was one of the most exciting events of the year. When we arrived to Ficus de Girona villa, where we had a chance to live for a couple of days before the wedding, we were charmed by the authentic Spanish interiors and decor that filled the house, there were no hesitations that we want to capture the morning of Irina there, in their bedroom.
On a day of, beautiful morning light was filling their gorgeous bedroom. Irina was a bit nervous but excited about her wedding day. After having a couple good laughs we started the process. It was easy for me to photograph her as I already knew her well and the only thing I was doing is capturing the moment. The moment she will hopefully come back to some time after and remember how it really felt first thing in the morning before everything started. She wears no makeup and no hair was done, we wanted to keep it simple and true to herself.
From the Bride:
This is the bridal morning I always wished for, for the wedding week we stayed in a beautiful centuries-old villa in rural Spain with many unique little antique pieces that contributed to the already established fairy-tale vibe of my wedding day. Inga Avedyan, is a close friend and a great photographer who I knew would be able to tenderly translate the emotions and feelings of the day through her camera, as she always does.
The start of the wedding day was obviously nerve-wracking, it took me good 1.5 years to plan this one day! I woke up at 7 am to see the sunrise, and to calm myself I took a few deep breaths and just tried to focus on enjoying the moment. The photoshoot went as fast as a bleep, but I clearly remember that all I was thinking about was my husband-to-be. I just couldn’t wait to get married to him – I have to say I am a very lucky girl to have him in my life. Looking at these images, I absolutely love how well they portray femininity, at part vulnerability, and discreet sexuality of my morning as a bride.
